Standing Stone Day 2008

One of the biggest events that the town has ever had. Some of the already planned events include The Monterey Depot Society's Second Annual Car Show, Monterey Senior Citizens First Annual Quilt Show at the Monterey United Methodist Church, and the arrival of an excursion train from the Tennessee Central Railway Museum in Nashville. Tickets will be on sale in the near future for train rides from Monterey out to the Sand Plant on the Hanging Limb Road and back. Several music stages in the downtown area, which will be closed to traffic and open to your walking and shopping pleasure. In the downtown area, crafters from the Cumberland Artisans for Creative Expression (CACE) will have booths with items from woodworking to painting and photography and music. A Civil War Skirmish. Hint...the Confederate Army wins! Don't forget, there will be the First Annual Monterey Grand Prix (riding lawnmower races.)
Watch for more details about the special day in Monterey. Invite your friends. Load up and come on over.
