30th Annual TACA Fall Craft Fair
The Tennessee Association of Craft Artists (TACA) celebrates the 30th anniversary of the annual TACA Fall Crafts Fair with activities honoring the past 30 years beginning Friday, September 26, 2007, through Sunday, September 30 in Nashville’s Centennial Park. Artists will be on site and craft available for purchase from 10am to 6pm Friday and Saturday and from 10am to 5pm on Sunday, with free admission and parking. Exclusive to this year’s fair, TACA has added an additional component by presenting the Guest Artist Demonstration, inaugurated in 2007 with internationally-known ceramicist Sylvia Hyman. Presented in conjunction with the Tennessee State Museum, this year’s special guest is noted doll-maker Akira Blount. A resident of Bybee, Tenn., Akira has been creating dolls since early childhood, recently exploring non-traditional forms and the creative forces found in nature. Her pieces are found world-wide, including the Louvre, Musee Des Arts Decoratif in Paris, France. She will be demonstrating her techniques on Saturday, September 27, 2008.
