1950’s-Theme Upper Cumberland Wine Festival in Granville

GRANVILLE, Tenn. – Granville is going back to the 1950’s with its theme for the Upper Cumberland Wine Festival noon to 5 p.m. April 14 in the Pioneer Village.

Celebrating the decade of the baby boomers with wine tastings, 50’s car show, 50’s DJ music & band, sock hop, costume and dance contest and “I Love Lucy” everywhere, the Wine Festival features eight Upper Cumberland wineries: DelMonaco Winery, Stonehaus Winery, Highland Manor Winery, Holly Ridge Winery, Red Barn Winery, Northfield Vineyards, Cellar 53 Winery, and Chestnut Hill Winery. Goodwater Vineyards and Winery and Cades Cove Cellars come from East Tennessee. Wine tasting participants must be 21 years or older.

Pre-sell tickets will be $15 at participating Upper Cumberland wineries and the Sutton General Store. Tickets will be $20 the day of at the festival gate. This ticket will include a wine glass and coupon for 10% off purchases at Sutton General Store, Granville Gifts, and Granville Antiques & Gifts. 

This is a day the whole family can enjoy. Visitors can look forward to a fun-filled 1950’s day tasting local wines, grape stomping, dancing to 50’s music and shopping. The festival will also feature an assortment of arts and crafts vendors as well as food trucks serving lunch and snacks. The festival will launch the 2018 Summer Season of Historic Granville: “Strolling Through the 1950’s. The Postwar Boom” with a special “I Love Lucy” exhibit. The Granville Museum will showcase 1950’s memories.

Guests will have the opportunity to stroll through Historic Granville to visit the Genealogy Festival, Up to 1950’s Antique Car Show, Sutton Homestead & Car Museum, Granville Museum, Craft Booths, Gift and Antique Shops and of course, the 1880 Sutton General Store will be offering attendees their famous southern cooking.  Dinners begin at 5:00 pm with reservations required. The Sutton Ole Time Music Hour starts 6 p.m. featuring David Parmley & Cardinal Tradition. For reservations call 931-653-4151.
