Huge Lineup Announced for the 41st Annual Uncle Dave Macon Days

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The 41st annual Uncle Dave Macon Days Festival will be a “Roots Rendezvous” that honors traditional American music and the career of the first superstar of the Grand Ole Opry and Country Music Hall of Famer, Uncle Dave Macon, July 13-14 at Cannonsburgh, a pioneer village located at 312 South Front Street in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

This year, Rhonda Vincent and the Rage will perform on the Macon Manor stage both nights at the Concerts After Dark series. Artists will also include Flatt Lonesome, Ralph Stanley II and Hogslop String Band for Friday night. Then, Saturday evening The Issacs, Newtown, Glade City Rounders, and The Cleverlys will take the stage.

On the Dixie Dew Drop stage, the Dew Drop Jamboree will feature the best in classic country both Friday and Saturday evenings.

Don’t miss a historic musical moment at 5 p.m. July 14 on the Macon Manor Stage: the record release celebration for Bluegrass Legends Live at the Ryman including Rhonda Vincent and the Rage with Mac Wiseman, Jesse McReynolds, and Bobby and Sonny Osborne.

Other family-oriented events taking place throughout the festival include heritage activities for children, local concessions, a juried arts and crafts show in Matilda Macon's Artisan Village, Dave Macon’s Marketplace, and a historic photo exhibit, along with the lively festival competitions and the National Championships in music and dance.

The Cannonsburgh village is home to more than 20 restored log structures and will feature living history demonstrations during the weekend. Visit a working blacksmith or join in with some old-fashioned shape-note singing in the little white church. Murfreesboro is 30 minutes southeast of Nashville on Interstate 24.
