The Nashville Zoo Celebrates Earth Day April 20

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Nashville Zoo's third annual Party for the Planet event takes place April 20 on the zoo’s Festival Field.

The event includes games and activities, special keeper talks, and friends from local conservation organizations who will share tips on living green and how to become involved in environmentally-friendly activities.

Attendees can bring old electronics like cell phones, small box TVs and computers as the zoo recycles these products during the event.

Enter the Recycled Art Contest for a chance to win a free Nashville Zoo Membership. Art pieces will be displayed and judged by a panel made up from members of local organizations. Winners in each category will receive prizes.

Croft Middle Prep have been working to complete animal conservation projects of their own design throughout the school year. Students can showcase their completed projects for zoo guests 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. along the Education Outpost Trails. Students are on-hand to discuss their projects and answer questions about the animals and habitats they have been researching.
